First Edition.
32.5cm x 25cm. 83, [vi], [vi], [iv], 10, [10] pages, 4 volumes, engraved frontispieces and title pages, 6 full page engraved plates, [329] half-page engravings with accompanying text below and to versos. Contemporary tree calf leather, rebacked, with original spines laid down.Containing over 300 half-page engravings of historical buildings, monuments, and structures with accompanying text below, this work was aimed at the popular market and targeted those who wanted to know about antiquities but had neither time nor means to visit them in person. Grose toured the country to visit and draw sites for inclusion in The Antiquities, but sometimes the text is taken from other books or from information supplied by others.
Rebacked, rubbing to board edges. Minor bumping to corners. Bookplates removed from endpapers. Some occasional foxing and browning. Very Good Condition.

A packing and handling charge of AU$10 for single book and small groups of lots applies. Large box lot(s) are charged at AU$20 per box. Large and fragile lots billed per half-hour.
Postage costs are charged at our contract carrier rates on top of the handling fee and shipped via the most practical carrier, usually Australia Post or FedEx, though other couriers may be used. Standard and express services are available.
