I come to painting as an astrophysicist. It has become a second vocation. I have been painting seriously for about three years, and have taken courses with Ricky Mujica at The Art Students League of New York for a little over a year. I get great joy from the process and woud like to share that feeling with others. Ricky's advice to "give a lot of love to your work" resonates with me, and I would like to invite others to feel something that is significant to them when they spend time with the painting. This particular painting started in a fury on a day that forest fires were in the news. It came to completion little by little as I thought about how humans and other Earthlife are adjusting to new realities.
