About the exhibition: “Creative Exchanges: Artists in Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner’s Address Books.”
In the days before smartphones and email, people hand-wrote contact information in books designed for that purpose. Three such books belonging to Jackson Pollock and Lee Krasner have survived. They will be on view, together with more than twenty works by artists whose names, addresses, and telephone numbers appear in them, including Thomas Hart Benton, James Brooks, Helen Frankenthaler, Adolph Gottlieb, John Graham, Reuben Kadish, John Little, Mercedes Matter, Barnett Newman, Alfonso Ossorio, Betty Parsons, Charles Pollock, and Mark Rothko, as well as Pollock and Krasner.
