Carrara marble, 7" x 14" x 6"
I have been engaged in stone sculpting since 1984 with League instructors Phillip Pavia, Barbara Segal, and currently, Seiji Saito. During the summer I work at the Carving Studio Sculpture Center in West Rutland, Vermont. The stones that I work are all calcium carbonate types of various origins. The subjects comprising my body of work includes stylized figures of shamans, goddesses, and animals with a focus on form, volume, light, shadow, and negative space.
