framed: 14 x 17 inchesExhibits & Awards: A Profusion of Peonies & Posies curated by Audrey Leeds at Rockefeller State Preserve This painting was created to commemorate the arrival of Spring and honor the passion of peonies.
Artist Bio: Bronx born artist Sue Barrasi began painting during childhood in the Hudson Valley. After earning a BA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts, she embarked on a brief career as an illustrator creating various ads, book and magazine covers, postage stamps, and backdrops for theatrical productions. After extensive travel in Europe, she continued her artistic training at the Art Students League and the Ridgewood Art Institute. Sue has been awarded numerous ribbons, grants and residencies and maintains active membership in the Oil Painters of America, the Salmagundi Club, the National Oil & Acrylic Painters Society, American Artist Professional League, Audubon Artists and is a lifetime member of the Art Students League. She serves as juror for local and national exhibitions and her works hang in private collections, galleries and museums throughout the United States. Sue teaches adults and children throughout the New York Metro area as she continues to compete in regional and international competitions.
