This piece was inspired by a trip to the Shaker Village in Massachusetts. The light coming through the antique glass into the darkened room and flowing on the velvet cape was the inspiration.
Artist Bio: Suzanne Starr lives in a small rural town. Having retired from teaching she now spends her time happily in her studio. Having concentrated heavily in charcoal work for the pandemic years, she moved into acrylic painting this past year and the structures and tonal values of charcoal work live in her current pieces. She endeavors to have the viewer catch their breath and be drawn into her pieces. Suzanne has been awarded prizes on the local, regional, state and national levels.
