  DOWNRIGGING of the Historic Tall Ships is celebrated every year on the first weekend of November, in the Chester River, Chestertown, Maryland.

  Exhibits & Awards: SILVER MEDAL OF HONOR , Allied Artists of America, 2017.

  Artist Bio: Michael Bignell is an award winning artist. Born in the rural South Coast of England, he has returned to painting after a successful career as an architect. Michael's Art Education was acquired through undergraduate and post-graduate studies in architecture. Otherwise self-taught. Schools: University of Brighton (U.K.), College of Art & Architecture. Yale University, Dept. of Architecture.
  Affiliations: Allied Artists of America, Elected Member; American Artists Professional League, Inc., Signature Member; Baltimore Watercolor Society, Life Member; Philadelphia Water Color Society, Signature Member.
  His exhibitions have included One-Person shows at the Delaplane Visual Arts Center, Frederick, MD ; the Historic Odessa Foundation in Delaware; Strathmore Hall, Bethesda, MD; and Village of Friendship Heights, Chevy Chase, MD. In addition to numerous private collectors in the United States, Michael has a following in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Canada.
