Artist Bio: Early childhood days spent painting ignited Dianna's lifelong passion to create. Dedication to the arts led her to earn a degree in Art Education and a Masters in Instructional Leadership from the University of Southern Maine.
Dianna practiced her craft by teaching drawing, painting, sculpture, pottery, stained glass and AP Studio Art to high school students in Maine for over 21 years. Being a teacher was fun and offered her a great opportunity to learn while helping others. During that time, Dianna's work was exhibited in group, solo, juried shows and the regional outdoor show circuit.
In 2014, Dianna retired from public education to devote her time to oil painting and exhibiting. In 2021, she opened Dianna Anderson Fine Art Studio & Gallery located in a restored 1880 barn. She paints en Plein air (outdoors) and in the studio creating works that express her experiences with the effects of light. Dianna's inspiration is to create compelling land and seascape paintings that communicate a sense of place, peace and relaxation to the viewer.
Dianna's paintings can be found in private collections, juried shows and in Dianna Anderson Fine Art Studio & Gallery, 32 Brown Street, Kennebunk, Maine seasonally, May through October. She has studied with master artists in Maine, New Hampshire, Florida, and abroad from artists including among others; Stacy Barter, Don Demers, David P. Curtis, John MacDonald, Carolyn Walton, David Lussier and Dewitt Hardy. Dianna is a member of American Women Artists, Oil Painters of America, The American Artists Professional League, and The American Society of Marine Artists.
