Sculpture: Lost wax cast in Bronze with Marble base
dimensions: 17" H x 19" W x 12" D
weight: 50 lbsI created this piece to honor gorillas "Samantha & Kola" who perished in the Philadelphia Zoo's tragic 1995 Christmas Eve zoo fire
Exhibits & Awards: "Best of Show"-Bradley/Mayer Award in the St. Augustine Art Association's 8th Annual Nature & Wildlife Exhibit. Shown only one time 2017
Artist Bio: BA in Art Education from Glassboro State College, now Rohwan U. & Master's of the Studio & Awards Graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the fine Arts. Beverly Davis prefers working from direct encounter of the subject where she can capture the subjects true unique beauty & power within. Portraiture of Nature's creation is sacred to me and my appreciation for it's power of revellation grows over time.
