DESCRIPTION: Up for auction is a signed, numbered, limited edition of Franz Kafka's short story In the Penal Colony published by the Limited Editions Club in 1987. This remarkable production is illustrated with lithographs by Michael Hafftka. The book was hand-bound by Carol Joynce in stitched Velum over boards. The book is printed on Mould-made Magnani paper and the lithographs are printed on hand-made Japanese paper. The book is housed in a felt-lined linen covered Solander box. This production was limited 800 copies. This is copy number 62and is signed by Hafftka on the book's colophon page.The book is in fine with minor wear to the edges, see photos. No internal markings, other than Hafftak's signature. No previous owner's bookplate. The spine and boards are square and straight. The clamshell case is in fine condition with minor shelf wear, see photos. The book will be carefully packaged in a box and shipped USPS Media Mail. Combined shipping for multiple orders.Condition
