Artwork Description: Open edition gold catalyzed spray finish plaster based on a bronze edition sculpture under the same name "Free Money". It is signed and dated on the bottom edge of the piece and the bottom of the base is lined with black felt.
Artist Biography: Otterness may well be "the world's best public sculpture", as the art critic Ken Johnson opined in the New York Times in 2002. Otterness has had major outdoor exhibitions of this sculptures on Park Avenue Mall in New York (2023), as well as 25 sculptures at the Broadway Mall from Columbus Circle to Washington Heights (2004-2005) in New York, downtown Indianapolis (2005), the Beverly Hills city hall grounds (2005-2006) in Los Angeles and throughout the Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, MN (2006). In the U.S., Otterness has completed over 50 large commissions, including Life Underground (2004), his celebrated, multi-figural bronze sculpture installation for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Agency at the 14th Street station on the Eighth Avenue subway lines and The Real World sculpture park in Battery Park City.

Shipping Policy: STREB 2024 Benefit Auction
The Charity will arrange the shipping of the purchased lots with the buyer directly unless otherwise agreed. The buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping and all associated fees. Bidsquare and the Charity are not responsible for any acts which result in damages by carriers or packers of purchased lots, whether or not recommended by the Seller or Bidsquare, and will not be liable for any losses which result. The Charity will provide a reasonable amount of assistance to buyers in arranging shipping and insurance, but the buyer is responsible for claims of loss or damage and for contacting the insurer or carriers directly.
Once good payment has been received, the Charity will release the item and coordinate as soon as is reasonably possible but not later than 30 days after payment has been received, with the buyer for the transportation of the object.
Purchased lots will be shipped from the Charity’s office in New York City. Buyers may contact the Charity if they wish to arrange to pick up the purchased lot(s) personally.
