- Lot Description
Mixed media collage on paper laid down on card, signed 'Bailey' lower right. 12 x 7 1/2 in. (sheet), 20 1/2 x 16 in. (frame).
Note: William Bailey is best known as a realist painter of large, stylized still lifes. This early collage was made while he was studying for his BFA at Yale in the early 1950s and was given by him as a wedding gift.
Provenance: Gift of the artist, 1955.
