STAIR internetrequests@stairgalleries.comWith a small white paper handwritten label on the bottom of one of the boxes: 'Mallett".
38 1/2 x 18 x 11 1/4 in.
With wear conducive to its age. Scattered lifting, chipping and rubbing to Japanning. Left mirror support is tight; the mirror rubs against it when moved. Right mirror support is warped. The (probably replaced) beveled mirror plate with minor oxidization. Fitted interior with scuffs and nicks underneath repainted areas. Larger areas of chipped japanning where the slant front touches the body of the stand. Ink stains to lower right drawer interior. Slant front no longer fits snuggly. The slides to support the slant front are tight in their slots, the left side is in need of freeing. Drawer interior fitted with boxes, all in generally good condition with working hinges and clasps. The clothing brushes with strong bristles in good condition, one fitted with horsehair, the other replaced with artificial bristles. Smaller brush appears to be missing part of its handle which is peeling. Silk on pin cushion threadbare. Age crack to the bottom drawer interior. A charming piece. Four keys.
Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
By repute Mallett, London.
