The unmounted pieces with visible 'Grenfell Labrador Industries' label.
Comprising:
An ice fishing scene mounted on frame, design attributed to Ned Hancock, probably circa 1938
A framed mat of 'Hunter with Husky'
A mat with snowshoeing scene
A mat of 'Hunter Spearing Seal'
The 'Hunter with Husky' 16 1/4 x 11 3/8 in. (frame).
Note: The kneeling ice fisherman is part of a "People Working" series designed by Ned Hancock, a worker at the Industrial in the 1930s. A similar example to the one in this lot can be found in Paula Laverty's Silk Stocking Mats (McGill-Queen’s Press, 2005) on p. 125.

Condition
Minor wear and some fading consistent with age and use. Some scattered stains, soiling and snags overall. The framed mat loose in frame and the frame coming apart at the corners.
