- Lot Description
39 x 23 x 16 1/4 in., seat height 17 1/4 in.
Note: This fretted chair-back pattern, with serpentine and voluted ribbon scrolls, corresponds to a 1759 'hall chair' pattern published in Thomas Chippendale's The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker's Director, 3rd ed., 1762, pl. XVII.
Condition
With repair to the back right side of the stretcher. One screw and peg added to right front leg. With some water damage and scuffing. Right arm slightly loose. Small loss to back left arm where it joins back splat, and a repair to the left arm support. Overall good color and expected wear throughout.
