- Lot Description
In two parts. With giltwood hoho bird finial.
8 ft. 9 in. x 4 ft. 4 in. 25 3/4 in. (including finial).
Condition
The hoho bird might be a later addition. One wing of hoho bird has been broken off and repaired, although it is contemporary to the bureau bookcase. The upper part missing its back, modified for electronics. With black corrugated material lining the interior. Top doors missing their locks, and lined with patterned wallpaper. Replaced 'antiqued' mirror plates. Areas of age cracks and replaced veneer, including one piece approx. 4 x 1 in. on left side by upper door hinge. The lower part with replaced leather writing surface to the slant front. Scattered stains to the interior. Vertical splits to the back, some visible through the cubby holes. Filled vertical age cracks and veneer replacements to the two sides. Seam separations between the planks that make up the drawer bottoms, some previously filled. Replaced brasses. Refinished. A useful piece for hiding electronics.
