Art & Design is a mix of styles that reflects how we live today. Rustic & refined. Classic & contemporary. Old & new. Our Art & Design sales blend these juxtapositions to create interesting combinations of furniture, fine art and objects that are affordable and easy to live with. Mid-century chairs around a rustic farm table, or a beautifully upholstered sofa speak to today’s design trends and offer easy up-styling for any room.
STAIR internetrequests@stairgalleries.comIn two pieces. The chest of drawers: central drawer impressed: 'HH Heritage Hendredon, by Frank Lloyd Wright';the back stamped: '559'; also stamped in red with a monogram in a square: 'FLLWY'; and stenciled: '2000'.
6 ft. 6 3/4 in. x 5 ft. 1 3/4 in. x 20 in.
Note: Late in his career Frank Lloyd Wright created a series of collections in several marterials with five firms, including furniture with Henredon. The furniture was modular so that new layouts could be created within the home. The bookcase here is finished on the front and back so that it could be used as a room divider. No handles were used so that the look of the drawer pulls could change with the progression of light throughout the day. The Taliesin collection (75 pieces) was produced in 1955 but was not enough of a success to warrant a second production.
Finish dry and sun faded, with scattered scuffs and nicks. Otherwise structurally sound and in good condition.
Not withstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.
