STAIR is proud to offer works from the Collection of James Grafstein. Mr. Grafstein was a well-respected dealer and a friend to many in the antiques community. Trained in France at the Museé du Louvre his knowledge of the 18th French Decorative arts was renowned. He was specifically recognized for his discerning eye for French Furniture and Porcelain. He later paid homage to the Louvre with several important donations to their collection and was granted France’s highest civilian award for his generosity. - Lot Description
Various printed marks and armorials.
Comprising:
Twelve armorial dinner plates
Eight dinner plates
Eight armorial soup plates
Seven armorial dessert plates
Three shallow bowls in two styles
Two armorial jugs in graduated sizes
An armorial waste bowl
Six armorial teacups and saucers
Six armorial coffee cups and saucers
Together with a similar waste bowl
The dinner plates 10 1/4 in. diam., (55 pcs).
Condition
Each with wear, some with staining, others with greater staining. One dinner plate has been reglued. One dessert plate very worn with a crack in the center. Three teacups with hairline cracks. A few soup plates with rim chips. One saucer with a crack. Otherwise in good condition.
Notwithstanding this report or any discussion concerning condition of a lot, all lots are offered and sold "as is" in accordance with our conditions of sale.

COLLECTION FROM STAIR:
We suggest requesting a quote for packing and shipping prior to bidding on an item, as you will be responsible for collection or shipping if you are the successful bidder.
We are open for pickups Monday through Friday, from 9:30am to 12pm and again from 1pm to 4:30pm. Please call us at 518.751.1000 to schedule collection. We ask that you collect your items or make collection arrangements within 10 days of your purchase.
