Oil on canvas, signed 'A.H. Wyant' lower right, lined, with label from Vose Galleries, Boston; and William Macbeth, Inc., NY.Note: One of the labels on this painting is from the Macbeth Gallery in New York. Founded in 1892 by William Macbeth, it was the first gallery to deal solely in American art. The gallery's most well-known exhibition was in 1908 with the now infamous show titled The Eight. Macbeth's son and nephew took over the business. The gallery closed in 1953. 18 1/2 x 30 1/2 in., 28 x 40 in. (frame).
