- Lot Description
Fine Tiffany Studios banded Spring Peony floor lamp. Blue glass upper section brick work that represents the sky. Band of spring peonies start with a pale green, go to white, then light pink, going to dark pink representing the transition of spring to summer. Shade is 24" dia. with applied tags Tiffany Studios New York 1574-7; base is #375 which is listed as Piano, floor, large wire decoration, scroll, height 79" with pig tail finial. Base impressed Tiffany Studios New York #375. Reddish brown patina, with 6 socket cluster. This lamp has never been out of the family and is it's first time offering. A fine example in untouched condition.
Condition
Lamp is very dirty, family were smokers and has never been cleaned. Shade has approximately ten tight hairlines in the lower border , possibly two tight hairlines in the floral banding and two cracks in the upper brick work. Patina to lamp base is dirty with good color and no rubbing. Paint specks, one socket loose at stem junction, pigtail finial bent at twist, newer plastic wire.
