Limited edition out of artist’s print: 1 of 10 available on BidsquareVic Bakin | I’m a self-educated Ukrainian photographer. Born in a tiny village that is now probably non-existent in Turkmenistan. Raised near Ukrainian Carpathians. Rooted in Kyiv, Ukraine.
I began to photograph relatively late in life, when around 25-26 y. o. Apart from a few workshops, including the JH Engstrom workshop in Copenhagen, my education is not in any way connected to photography or arts.
My photographic practice mainly revolves around documenting Ukrainian youth. My focus is on different local communities such as queer and fashion scenes, rave and music culture and closed communities such as student dorms. Recently my focus also shifted to the themes of war in Ukraine.
