Limited edition out of artist’s print: 1 of 10 available on BidsquareAlina Potapenko is a Ukrainian artist who works with photography. Born in 1990 in the city of Zaporizhia, she has been living in Kyiv for the past 10 years. Alina is currently working as a designer and at the same time is engaged in personal photo projects. From June 2022, she temporarily lives in Great Britain.
Description: I saw this abandoned flower stall from the car window when I was returning home to the left bank of Kyiv. I spent the first months after the full-scale invasion on the right bank with my friend. The city looked very empty and apocalyptic, especially in the slums, one of which I live in. I returned to the stall the same day to photograph it. I looked at these dead flowers and couldn't leave for a long time, and there was a chasm in the middle. Behind this everyday fixation of reality - pain, fear, strength, will, love, and awareness that our life will no longer be the same as before. But it will definitely be and will be on our land of free and strong Ukraine.
