Paul- Edouard Delabrierre (1829-1912) was a French sculptor of the Animalier School. His models were directly influenced by Antoine-Louis Barye, the father of the Animalier school. Delabrierre had 70 sculptures exhibited in the prestigious Salon of Paris. In the later parts of his life, Delabriere's sculptures began to be imported to the U.S. by the infamous jewelry firm, J. E. Caldwell & Co. He later was commissioned by the Louvre museum to create the "L'Equitation" which currently adorns the Louvre today.
