Antique Italian Grand Tour mahogany wood & bronze roman ruins neoclassical model, circa late 19th century.
This is a very rare and exceptionally made piece from the Grand Tour period. If you collect Grand Tour models, this is a must have. We haven't seen many of them made in Mahogany wood. Usually they are made in Marble or Plaster.
This model is made from beautiful carved mahogany and patinated 1bronze capitals. Includes purposefully carved "cracks" to base blocks. Very large in size and in original, excellent condition. Photos don't do justice.
Similarly sized and vintage "grand tour" souvenirs sell for upwards to well over ten thousand dollars. Making this chic piece truly a deal.
Measures: 21" high x 10" wide x 6.5" deep.
