The American Antiquarian Society in Worcester, Massachusetts, holds a collection of original works by Warre, including the art for some images published here, completed during his reconnaissance of the Oregon territory in 1845. http://www.americanantiquarian.org/Inventories/Drawings/warrecollection.htm
Warre's mission on behalf of the British government sought to settle a territorial dispute with the Americans. When he returned from his trip, he found the matter resolved. He nonetheless maintained his right to publish his renderings of the wild landscapes of the American West, which were available for sale both uncolored and hand-colored, as seen in this copy.
