Walter H. Durfee & Co. Carved Mahogany Nine Tubular Bell Hall Clock, retailed by J.E. Caldwell & Co., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, c. 1900, carved floral-decorated hood, freestanding stop-fluted Corinthian columns flanking the composite brass pierced dial with applied silvered and brass arabic numeral chapter ring, and spandrels, name boss reading "J.E. Caldwell & Co. Philadelphia," strike/silent lever at 9, chime/silent and Westminster/Eight Bells subsidiary dials, painted moon's phase in the arch, paneled case sides, arched beveled glass waist door, and carved floral-decorated base panel, all resting on three-toe clawed feet, eight-day quarter-chiming on nine tubes movement, rear damascened plate stamped on top edge twice, back plate marked "Walter H. Durfee & Co./Providence/R.I.," as well as on the tubes, regulated by a pendulum and three brass-cased weights, ht. 101 in.
