Durfee Art Nouveau Marquetry Pattern 34 Inlaid Tall Clock, Providence, Rhode Island, c. 1885, central turned urn finial atop the carved shell-decorated plinth, inlaid grasses above the tombstone-shaped hood door, four turned spiral or twisted columns flanking the composite brass dial with moon's phase in the arch, gothic-style roman numeral silvered chapter ring, engine-turned "fish scale" center, seconds bit, and calendar aperture, plaque reading "Walter H. Durfee/Providence," waist section with inlaid and shell-topped paneled door, flanked by two freestanding spiral-turned columns, base terminating in an inset leaf-decorated panel and bold carved paw feet, backboard marked in chalk "No. 3," eight-day time and hour-strike movement with damascened plates, rear plate stamped "Walter H. Durfee/Providence," regulated by two iron weights and brass-faced pendulum, ht. 100 in.

Condition: case and finish in overall very nice condition. metal brackets added to case interior for seating board mounting. Movement needs overhaul. Pendulum rod broken at brass ferrule.
