Condition: Good (with restoration by the artist and his studio).
Provenance: Gift from the artist to Marcus Ratliff; estate of Marcus Ratliff, Vermont.
N.B. Artist and graphic designer Marcus Ratliff met and befriended Tom and Claire Wesselmann when they were all students at Cooper Union. They exhibited together in 1959 and remained lifelong close friends. Wesselmann presented
TV Dinner to Ratliff as a wedding gift shortly after it had been exhibited at The Green Gallery. A letter describing the gift and its restoration by Wesselmann and his studio in 1991 accompanies the lot.
