- Lot Description
Three Wrought Iron Peels, America, late 18th/early 19th century, one having a ram's-head finial, shaped arris handle and lollipop hanger below finial, (imperfections), lg. 49, wd. 9 1/4, another with scrolled-heart finial and shaped, arris handle with mark "L.K. [indistinct]," impressed twice, (imperfections), lg. 34, wd. 6 3/4, the last with a ram's-head finial and incised mark "1816" at top of handle, (imperfections), wd. 7 1/4, lg. 40 1/2 in.
Provenance: The Howard Roth Collection.
Estimate $400-600
On unmarked peel, wear to working surface, including 1 3/4 in. hole; on "LK" peel, the working surface with rust, wear, and wrinkled edges; on "1816" peel, some scattered surface rust; wear to working surface.
