- Lot Description
Three Gerry Williams (1926-2014) Studio Pottery Emerald-glaze Vases, New Hampshire, c. 2000, all with incised artist's signature, cushion-form with flared mouth, decorated with lighter green curvilinear elements, ht. 5 1/2, dia. 9, wide-mouth vase with matte brown rim, ht. 3 3/4, dia. 5 1/4, ovoid form with flared rim, decorated with a network of lighter green lines, ht. 6 3/4, dia. 7 1/2 in.
Note: Williams was a nationally and internationally recognized master craftsman, teacher, lecturer, and author. He was the founder of The Studio Potter, a nonprofit membership organization, and editor of The Studio Potter Magazine, a journal about the aesthetics, technology, and history of pottery and about the personal lives of ceramic artists. On February 19, 1998, he was appointed as New Hampshire's first Artist Laureate by Governor Jeanne Shaheen. (New Hampshire State Council on the Arts)Condition
