Three Civil War Georgia Regiment Letters Relating to the Battles of Fair Oaks and Seven Pines, F. J. Robertson, Richmond, 5 June 1862, two-and-a-half-page autograph letter with original envelope, speaks of almost constant shelling and a fight that lasted from Saturday to Sunday, mentions camping lying in a line of battle with no tents and always in the rain, 8 3/4 x 5 1/2 in.; John B. Beall, 3 June 1862, this two-page letter written on captured Union stationary describes a grueling fifteen mile hike through the rain, complains that regiments were badly managed, brigades lacked proper action, leaving them exposed to heavy fire, and mentions having to leave dead and wounded behind enemy lines, 7 3/4 x 5 1/4 in.; John B. Beall, 6 June 1862, this poetically written four-page autograph letter begins describing his exhaustion after the excitement of battle has left, he describes the initial charge of the battle and being under "terrible fire of both ball and bullet for some 20 minutes," he lists some casualties but says he does not have an accurate count, 6 3/4 x 8 1/4 in.
