Stone Carving of a Daoist Landscape, China, 18th/19th century, on a pebble-shape stone in bas-relief, with a recluse fisherman on a boat, a pair of deer, a crane, and pine tree, incorporating the stone's natural fissure, amber stone with russet matrix, ht. 3 in.
Provenance: The estate of Ernest Helides.
Estimate $800-1,000
in good condition with some surface scratches particularly to bottom.
