Stenciled-decorated Butternut Box Banjo Clock, signed Griswold & Fenno, c. 1820-1830, hinged upper door framed with turned and stenciled half columns surrounding the 10 1/2-in. roman numeral painted iron dial, brass winding hole grommets, fruit decorated spandrels, pierced blued-steel hands, mirrored throat with side latches flanked by the stenciled and turned half columns, lower mirrored hinged box framed with turned and stenciled half columns as the dial door, one-piece backboard, unusual brass rack and snail, weight-powered movement with offset winding drums, ht. 38 1/2 in.

Condition: stenciling is original, staining to case sides appears to be original, dial untouched, mirrors possibly old replacements.
