Small Bentwood and Pine Box with Carved Whale Finial and Collection of Miniature Bone Carvings, probably New England, mid-19th century, with pine top and small carved whale affixed with handmade metal pins, the box containing approximately forty-nine carved bone miniatures including swords, rifles, a shield, rings, whales, boots, shoes, a rolling pin, a teapot, food choppers and other kitchen implements, keys, arrows, a pipe, an ice skate, a sled, a book, and a hand, (imperfections), box overall ht. 1 3/4, lg. 5 1/4, miniatures to lg. 4 3/4 in.
