Simon Willard Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, Roxbury, Massachusetts, c. 1805, the mahogany case with painted iron Roman numeral dial with 15-minute markings and gold band around the perimeter, crossbanded inlaid frames enclose reverse-painted tablets, the lower in a sunburst pattern in gold, blue, and ochre and inscribed S. Willard's Patent, the waist glass flanked by cast brass side ornaments, of the oak leaf and acorn pattern with blue and gold border, uniform cut head encloses the eight-day time-only deadbeat escapement movement with T-bridge, through bolts to fasten in the case, all regulated by a pendulum and powered by a lead weight, ht. 34 in.
