Seven-piece Renaissance Revival Carved and Parcel-gilt Walnut Parlor Suite, probably New York or New Jersey, late 19th century, in the manner of John Jelliff (1813-1893), with two armchairs, four side chairs, and a settee, each with an over-upholstered back and seat in silk damask, the frame with burl panels offset by gilded incisions, crest rail with a central portrait medallion topped with scrolls, the arm stumps with a female bust, raised on fluted front legs terminating in brass casters, settee ht. 54, armchair ht. 49, side chair ht. 40 1/2 in.

Upholstery in good overall condition. All pieces professionally restored and refinished throughout. Extensive restoration and professional reconstruction of the frames including crests, arm stumps, legs, back supports. All but one side chair with a replaced apron with serial number "81474" to underside of apron. Same sidechair with replaced apron also with breaks along old repairs to back rest and resulting wiggle to backrest. All other pieces sturdy. All with very minor usage wear nicks, abrasions.
