Oil on board, 5 3/4 x 8 1/4 in., unframed; one, numbered on the back "No 845," depicting two small craft in a rocky harbor with ship in the distance and figures watching from a rocky precipice; the other, numbered on the back "No 847," with figures loading a small boat in a rocky harbor with ship in the distance.
Condition: No obvious retouch, one with craquelure.
Provenance: The estate of Samuel Batchelder (1784-1879), inventor, author, and cotton miller.
Condition
Condition: One has minor specks of retouch in the right half of the sky. The other has paint loss throughout. The boards that the two paintings are done on are slightly different thicknesses.
