- Lot Description
Red-stained Maple Oliver Brackett Dwarf Clock, Vassalboro, Maine, c. 1840s, flat-top case with hinged upper door, reverse-painted floral-decorated tablet, painted roman numeral iron dial with black surround, marked "O. Brackett Vassalboro," waist door with applied molding, resting on a high scroll-cut base, thirty-hour weight-powered movement with iron plates, tin-cased weight and brass-faced pendulum, ht. 29 in.
Literature: A similar clock is shown in Furniture Treasury, by Wallace Nutting, plate 3420. This clock is pictured in a Eugene J. Sussel March 1950 ad in the The Magazine Antiques.Condition
Condition: old finish, original dial paint, lacking pewter fret, object right rear foot repaired. Object front side foot repaired.
