Queen Anne Carved Cherry Scroll-top High Chest of Drawers, Connecticut, c. 1740-60, the upper section with molded cresting ending in carved floral devices centering a plinth with pinpricked heart, above shallow relief-carved compass stars and case of five short drawers, the central of which is carved with a fan ornamented with pinpricked dots, and four long drawers below, all set into a lower section of long drawer and three short drawers, the central of which has a similarly carved fan, and valanced skirt joining four cabriole legs, old surface, (scroll top added), ht. 89, lower case wd. 38 1/2, lower case dp. 19 1/4 in.

Condition: losses and repairs to thumbmolding, losses to dovetails near drawer dividers, crack and repair to center plinth, finials replaced, pendants probably replaced.
