When this blanket chest was found it was missing its feet, part of the molding around the smaller center bottom drawer and about 50% of the applied tulip and heart. This chest was made by the same cabinet maker as the chest in the Ellie Hoover Walker Collection (sold by Skinner, August 9, 2015, Lot 1068). The feet on this chest are exact reproductions of the feet on the Walker chest. Even though some of the applied tulip/heart were missing the shadow of the molding was visible to guide the restoration. Restoration was accomplished by Kendl Monn of Christiana, Pennsylvania.
