- Lot Description
Page Hazelgrove (American, 1956-1997) Glass Still Life, Massachusetts, late 20th century, thirteen glass elements in clear and rose, ht. to 7 3/4 in.
Note: Hazlegrove was the glass studio instructor at the MIT Materials Processing Center and an accomplished artist. She taught a course in designing and constructing with glass in the "hot shop" for nine years, sharing her knowledge with more than 500 MIT students. She also brought exposure for MIT within the art community through her participation in national arts events. It was through her efforts that portions of the Glass Arts Society meeting were held at MIT in 1996.
Hazlegrove was a graduate of Connecticut College and the Glass Department of the Rhode Island School of Design. She exhibited her work in museums and galleries, most notably at the Society of Arts and Crafts on Newbury Street. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Wheaton American Glass Museum in Millville, New Jersey, own some of her work.Condition
