Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973)
Mod?le et grande sculpture de dos, 1933, plate 87 from La Suite Vollard, edition of 250, published 1939 by Vollard, Paris, printed by Lacouri?re, Paris (Bloch, 186; Baer et al., 345Vc). Signed "Picasso" in pencil l.r., annotated "357" in pencil l.l. Etching with engraving, aquatint, and plate tone on laid paper with "Picasso" and Montval watermarks, plate size 10 5/8 x 7 5/8 in. (27.0 x 19.1 cm), framed.
Condition: Full sheet with deckled edges, gentle toning to sheet, pale mat burn, several pale fox marks, glue residue to upper edge, pencil annotations to verso.
N.B. The work depicts Picasso's lover Marie-Th?r?se as the model, observing a sculpture of her body being created by the artist.Condition
