Otto Bierhals (American, 1879-1944)
Floral Still Life in a Sunny Window
Signed "BIERHALS." l.l.
Oil on paperboard, 22 1/4 x 16 3/8 in. (56.8 x 42.0 cm), in a probable Newcomb-Macklin frame.
Condition: Retouch over paint losses to c.l. edge and u.l. corner, scattered minor paint losses.
Estimate $400-600
Paperboard has been laid down on Masonite, however it is not fully adhered along the lower edge. The signature stands out under UV examination, but it is likely due to the brown pigment. Retouch to u.l. corner measures 5 x 1 in. Retouch along left center edge measures up to 8 in. high and 3/4 in. wide.
Frame dimensions are 27 1/2 x 21 1/2 in.
