- Lot Description
New England Gilt-front Patent Timepiece or "Banjo" Clock, attributed to William Cummens, original gilt turned finial atop the mahogany case, roman numeral dial with remnants of a signature and "Warranted," typical Cummens hands, "L-screws" and guide pins, cast brass side arms with casting marks or holes in the lower lobes, gilt rope-turned frames enclosing the original reverse-painted tablets, lower tablet depicting the Boston State House, throat tablet with patriotic theme, reading in the small banner "E. Pluribus Unum," one-piece pine backboard, eight-day time-only movement with through bolts, ht. with finial 33 in.

Condition: original tablets with minor touch up and losses, dial with minor re-touch, interior backboard, and both tablet frames marked "II"
