Nathan Seddon Ebonized Table Clock, at St. James, London, c. 1725, the ebonized oak case with low caddy top, four finials and carrying handle, 8 x 6 3/4-in.glazed dial opening over the 7 x 8-in. composite brass dial engraved at the top Nathan Seddon/London centered within engraved scroll and floral decoration, Roman numeral chapter ring with quarter, half, and half-quarter marks, matted center with blocked mock pendulum opening, recessed date, single winding hole, period blued-steel hands and all framed by cast brass spandrels in a crown and sceptre pattern, five-pillar movement with fully engraved back plate with birds, cherubs, floral and scroll decoration, and engraved Nathan Seddon at St. James/London, the movement with later single time train fusee and anchor escapement, rear bridge for pendulum and two brackets for case attachment, ht. 15 1/2 in. with handle flat.

This movement is lacking all pull quarter work, bells and original time train, crown wheel and verge escapement, mock pendulum aperture now covered with a brass plate, date front plate work appears to be intact, lacking a seating board, brasses in old lacquer.
