Monumental Fencai Flower and Landscape Vase, China, Qianlong period, multi-tiered baluster form vase with two chilong-inspired gilt-bronze ears on the neck, each tier with a different glaze, decoration, and technique, the twelve-lobed body with twelve panels depicting in fencai enamel six auspicious themes of sanyang kaitai (with sun), jiqing youyu (with boy), danfeng chaoyang (with phoenix), taipingyoujiang (with elephant), xianshangqiongge (with landscape), and bogu giuding (with nine pots) alternating with six floral scroll and auspicious knot designs with bats, ruyi, swastika, chilong, lingzhi, and huahui, the glazes in blue and white, celadon, cobalt blue, turquoise, purple, pink, yellow, and white, decorative techniques including fencai, molding, anhua, crackled ice, and gilt, red six-character Qianlong mark to turquoise enamel base, ht. 34 3/8, mouth rim wd. 10 3/4 in.

neck has been reattached with old adhesive, one ear has been reconstructed, regilt and reattached, two 3-in. hairline cracks to the oxblood-glazed band on either side with traces of gilt kintsugi repairs, approx. 6-in hairline running from the top of the doucai band down into the ruyi scroll panel, minor gilt loss and surface scratches allover.
