Minton Bone China Round Robin Teapot and Cover, England, c. 1876, after a design by William James Goode, polychrome enamel decorated, gilded and perched on a domed base with raised holly, printed in puce "MINTON/ T. GOODE & Co/SOUTH AUDLEY St. LONDON," ht. 6 1/2 in.
Literature: Illustrated in The Dictionary of Minton by Atterbury and Batkin, page 215.
Note: A previous example sold at Bonhams London October 5, 2004. A footnote mentions that this model was commissioned from Thomas Goode, china retailers of South Audley Street, by HRH The Princess of Wales in 1876 as a gift for her husband.Condition
Condition: Extensively restored including the spout, tail feathers, rim and overall to the body. The cover is made up.
