Early Autumn Landscape with Cows Watering
Signed "Jules Dupré" l.r.
Oil on canvas, 20 1/2 x 26 in. (52.0 x 65.5 cm), in a period frame.
Condition: Lined onto Masonite, retouch, craquelure.
N.B. The lot is accompanied by a copy of an appraisal by Kalens Fine Arts, Princeton, New Jersey, dated May 5, 1984.
Estimate $4,000-6,000
Framed dimesions are 32 1/2 x 38 in. Frame with loss to one corner.
Broadly brushed retouch to the sky and clouds at the center horizon line and upper left. Broad retouch to clouds in the u.l. quadrant.
This work has been reviewed from photographs by Michel Rodrigue and will be included in his catalogue raisonne for Jules Dupre.
