Note: Ann Ball, daughter of John Ball and Catherine Gendron, married Richard Waring, owner of Tranquil Hill Plantation. Her portrait by Jeremiah Theus was one of many portraits painted in Theus's successful three decades in Charleston. Her facial features are delicately rendered. Particular effort was made to detail her silk dress, trimmed with lace and ermine, and her jewelry.
Condition
Condition: scattered inpainting to her face around her left eye, repaired tear in neck area and inpaint in the red fabric on which she rests her arm.
