Jacques Henri Lartigue (French, 1894-1986)
Nine Photographs from J-H Lartigue: A Collector's Portfolio, 1903-1916, printed 1978. Numbered "573" of an edition of 5,000 English-language portfolios and 7,500 portfolios worldwide, and signed "J.H. LARTIGUE" with the artist's cipher in ink on a label affixed to the portfolio interior, each numbered in pen l.r., with the artist's dry stamp cipher l.l., and presented in a folder embossed with title and a portfolio dry stamp. Nine gold-toned gelatin silver prints, image sizes to 7 1/2 x 8 1/2 in (19.1 x 21.6 cm), folder size 16 x 13 in. (40.6 x 33.0 cm), each mounted inside folder and presented in the original clamshell box.
Condition: Pale foxing and minor soiling to folders, significant wear to clamshell box.
N.B. Zissou conduisant son 'Bob a 4 Roues' avec oléo et Louis comme passagers trop chargé le Bob va entrer dans un arbre is missing from the portfolio. The portfolio dry stamp reads: "ENGLISH LANGUAGE/PORTFOLIO/SUPERVISED/BY/J. H. LARTIGUE." Nine corresponding mats accompany the lot.Condition
